Frank Leo Heit, age 77, passed away May 18, 2014.



Preceded in death by his mother, Barbara; his father, Clarence; and his sister, Mary.



Survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy; daughters, Kristie (Greg) Wieczorek and Lynda Heit; five granddaughters and one grandson; 4 great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter; five brothers, Joe, Jerry (Dottie), Ken (Joyce), Richard (Wanda) and David (Julaine).



Frank graduated high school in Devils Lake, North Dakota in 1954 and entered the Navy, After his discharge from the navy, he attended St. Thomas College in St. Paul and graduated with a degree in Accounting. He accepted a position with Arthur Young accounting firm in Minneapolis. While working for Arthur Young, Frank sat for his CPA test and passed it on the first try. Later, Frank joined International Dairy Queen as their accountant and soon was elevated to a position of Executive Vice President and Treasurer.



Frank traveled a lot with his many job duties, including attending board meetings at Dairy Queen of Japan and heading the Canadian offices of Dairy Queen.



In 1992 Frank and his wife Judy retired to Osprey, Florida, where they lived in the Oaks community.



For 6 years he was Treasurer of their Bayfront Homeowners Association and 3 years as an officer of the first Oaks Club Board of Governors.



In between these duties, Frank managed to fit in some well enjoyed golf games and traveling and cruising with his wife.



Due to ill health, they moved back to the Minneapolis area in 2014, where he passed away shortly after, with all of his family beside him.



Frank was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed by all.
