Allen Dartt Obituary
Oct. 3, 1930 - Jan. 30, 2015
Allen George Dartt of Sarasota, passed away peacefully on January 30 surrounded by his loving family. George is survived by his wife, Rebecca H. Dartt, his daughter, Amy Ashton of Sarasota, his son, James Robert Dartt of Saunderstown, RI, and four grandchildren; a step-daughter, Robin Cofer of NYC, two step-sons, Robert Cofer of Litchfield, CT and David Cofer of Cortland, NY, and two step-granddaughters. George will be remembered for his passion for life. While he worked in the securities business on Long Island and in NYC before retirement to Florida, his true love was for the people in his life and his extracurricular activities. He made a lasting impression on everyone who crossed his path. An enthusiastic tennis player, he was also a past president of the Eastern Division of the US Lawn Tennis Association (now USTA) and is credited for having started the 35 Age Men's Division. He was an avid admirer of fine automobiles and he sang in multiple choirs, most recently at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Sarasota. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Humane Society of Sarasota: http://hssc.org.

I am so sorry Aim.
I always loved your dad and I enjoyed all of the moments that I was lucky enough to share with him.
His beautiful blue eyes, his awesome contagious laugh and that Hollywood movie star smile of his that brightened up any room. He loved you so much.
You were his Amy-O!
I will always remember him saying to me, "Henry the great!!" every time he would see me.
I will truly miss him and one day we will see each other again, on the other side. ??

How could one person contain all the energy, love & light as did George Dartt? One of my great joys in life is that he made my oldest friend from first grade, Rebecca Dartt, so happy.
