In loving memory of Francis Condon, age 93, who passed from this earth on March 13, 2016 in Venice, Florida.
He was born June 4, 1922 in Wilmerding, PA to William Jr. and Mildred. In 1938, Frank enlisted in the US Navy and was honorably discharged Oct 1945. Frank served as a torpedo man first class during WWII on the USS Decatur, Lansdowne, and Massey (plankowner). He was awarded multiple silver and bronze stars.
After the war, Francis earned his degree in Engineering from U Pittsburgh and a Master of Public Health from U Michigan. His professional career included Aramco Oil, the US EPA, and RMI Indonesia. In retirement, he stayed active and enjoyed many outdoor adventures.
Francis is survived by 7 children - Dan, Gwen, Christina, Eileen Alexandra, Vincent, Mark Casey, and Charles, and 8 grandchildren - Clare, Danny Jr., Sarah, Benjamin, Dorothea, Kes, Ella, and Zoe. He is preceded in death by his daughter Janine.
Francis will be laid to rest at Sarasota National Cemetery on March 28, 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to American Legion Honor Guard Post 159, Venice, FL. God bless you dad.
