LICHKO, JOHN C.; age 90; of Flat Rock; passed away on Thursday, January 23, 2014, in Woodhaven, MI. Visitation was held at the Arthur Bobcean Funeral Home, Flat Rock Chapel on Monday, January 27, 2014. Funeral Services were held at St. Roch Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Father Richard A. Hartmann officiated. Burial Michigan Memorial Park, Huron Township, Michigan. Born on August 10, 1923, in East Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Julius and Theresa (Jasak) Lichko. On April 17, 1948, he married Dora Spaniel, in East Vandergrift, PA. John served in the U.S. Air Force during W.W.II. He participated in the Honor Flight to Washington DC. He employed with McLouth Steel as an Industrial Brick Layer for 31 years until retiring in 1985. John was a member of St. Roch's Catholic Church and Brownstown Senior Citizens. He enjoyed dancing, serving his church, and would help peel potatoes for the roast beef dinners at the Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two brothers; and three sisters. Surviving is his son, Jerry (Terry) Lichko of Wyandotte; two daughters, Nancee (Dennis) Schrieber of Brownstown and Lorraine (Bruce) Hurd of Lincoln Park; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to St. Roch Catholic Church.
