Wallace Wayne Cleland Sr.

CLELAND, WALLACE WAYNE, Sr.; age 81; died at Blake Memorial Hospital in Bradenton, Florida, on July 4, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. He was surrounded by his wife, Patricia Cleland; son, Wallace Wayne Cleland, Jr.; and daughter in-law, Ping Cleland, and her family. He was born July 26, 1931, in New Boston, Michigan and married Patricia Polach June 5, 1954, in Flat Rock, Michigan. He was employed with the Ford Motor Company for 38 years in Monroe, Michigan until he retired in 1986. He later moved to Anna Maria Island in 1991 and loved the Sunshine State. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska. He was a member of the American Legion post 400, and the Anna Maria Island Moose Lodge #2188. He was preceded in death by his parents, Waid and Frances Cleland; his brother, Clifford; and two sisters, Betty Rinehart and Esther Hurlburt. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; son, Wally; daughter-in-law, Ping; sister-in-law, Louise Cleland; as well as nieces and nephews in Michigan, California, and Florida. Page-Theus Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with all arrangements.
