Fernand Robinson DuHadway Obituary
DuHADWAY, FERNAND ROBINSON; 89; passed away on September 8, 2013; in Dearborn, MI. He was born on April 6, 1924, in Ft. William, Ontario, Canada, to the late Elwyn and Olga DuHadway. Fernand grew up in Ecorse, MI and graduated from Ecorse High School in 1942. In 1943, he joined the U.S Army Air Corp and proudly served as a ball turret gunner on a B17 Flying Fortress in the 8th Air Force. While serving, he was awarded several medals including the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Purple Heart. Fernand was a proud veteran and a kind and caring man. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandpa. He was also an avid sports fan. Fernand was happily married to Margaret "Peggy" Burke for 55 years at the time of her death. He is survived by their children, James (Cheryl) DuHadway, Karen (Jacques) Ledent, Renée (David) Cords, and Peggy (Scott) Siwka; their grandchildren, Everett DuHadway, Amber Wilkinson, Erin Wilkinson, Philippe Ledent, Marc Ledent, Daniel Siwka, and Brian Siwka; and their nieces, nephews, and other relatives. Funeral Wednesday September 11, 2013 (today) at 11 a.m. at the John K. Solosy Funeral Home, 3206 Fort St., Lincoln Park (313) 383-1870. Interment Michigan Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military Honors. Donations may be made in Fernand's name to the Wounded Warrior Project
