Horace Frank Robinson Obituary
ROBINSON, HORACE FRANK; of Grass Lake, MI; age 96; passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2013, with his wife and loving family by his side. At the time, he was under the care of the wonderful staff at the Vista Grande retirement home in Jackson. Horace was born to Edmund and Delia Robinson on May 26, 1917 in Grass Lake on his family's homestead. He graduated from Michigan State University, studying agriculture and volunteering in the cavalry unit of the ROTC. He fell head-over-heels in love and married June Floyd of Chelsea on June 2, 1946, for whom he built a family home across the road from the Centennial farm where he was raised. It has been in the family since 1852. They went on to live there for 67 years raising a family and lovingly maintaining their home and land. In addition to a lifetime of farming, Horace loved to invent and build. His inventions were even utilized by the Ford Motor Company where he worked for thirty years. He will be remembered for his creative spirit and cheery disposition-anyone who knew him could count on him having a joke on hand and a story to share. Horace, lovingly known as 'Papa', is survived by his wife June and their three children: Judy Gallagher (husband Kevin), Elaine Willett (husband Bill) and Brian (wife Tina) Robinson. He is also survived by five grandchildren Kirk, Todd and Spencer Gallagher and Christina and Eric Willett and four great grandchildren. His loss will be mourned by all who knew him, and he will live on forever in our hearts. Arrangements by Staffan-Mitchell Funeral Home, Chelsea. Obituary at
