LOYER, WALTER C.; 81; of Oregon, Ohio; passed away on Wednesday, November 7, 2012; at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. He was born on May 31, 1931 to Stanislaus and Alphonsine Loyer in Detroit, Michigan. Walter was raised in Wyandotte with 13 siblings, all of whom preceded him in death. Walter served during the Korean War where he earned the rank of sergeant and was awarded the Purple Heart. He married Icie Davis Loyer of Haleyville, Alabama in Wyandotte on January 5, 1957. Walter worked for the Wyandotte, MI Water Department and then at the Toledo Blade as an operator in the mailroom for 35 years prior to his retirement. Walter is survived by his wife of 55 years, Icie; sons, Richard (Amy), Mark (Sundai), and Bryan; grandchildren, Dana, Nathan, Milan and Pari; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings. Funeral Services were held at the Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home, Oregon, Ohio on Saturday, November 10, 2012.
