ADAM, ALEXANDER CRAIG; 68; of Buckley; went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 2, 2013; after a long battle of illness. Alex was born on August 22, 1944, in Greenville, South Carolina, the son of John and Ethel Adam. After graduating in January 1963 from Roosevelt High School, in Wyandotte Michigan, he entered the US Army for a tour of three years. He was discharged in January of 1966 as a Sargent E-5. In June of 1965, he married Darlene Adam (Winter) of Taylor. He was an Auxiliary Police Officer in the City of Taylor, where he resided for 33 years. He retired from Ford Motor Company (Woodhaven Stamping Plant) with 31 years of seniority as a welder-repair fixture builder. Alexander Craig Adam is survived by his wife of 48 years, Darlene Adam; children, Michele (Michael) Ebel, Laura (Daniel) Carlson; grandchildren, Brittany Carlson, Renee Ebel, Nicholas Ebel, and Lily Carlson; brother, Alfred Adam; sisters, Barbara (Rich) Walster, Wendy (Rob) Brown, Mary (Bruce) Nyberg; and his mother, Ethel Tenny; and several nieces and nephews; and a very "special caring friend," Robin Stendel. A Viewing will take place at Howe-Peterson Funeral Home, 9800 Telegraph Rd., Taylor, MI on Thursday, August 8, 2013, from 2 to 8 p.m. Burial will follow at Michigan Memorial Cemetery in Flat Rock, Michigan. Arrangements have been entrusted to Covell Funeral Home in Kingsley.
