Robert T. Piasecki Obituary
PIASECKI, ROBERT T.; January 6, 2013; age 87; of Lincoln Park, Michigan. Beloved husband of Teresa (Gietzen) for 62 years; dearest father of Judith (Michael) Walker, Margaret (Thomas) Cadorin, Monica (David) Mikolajewski, James (Stacee) and Fredrick (Lynnly). Also survived by 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren, as well as extended family. Mr. Piasecki achieved the rank of United State Marine Corp Sergeant, 5th Division (1951). Honorably decorated veteran of World War II, participated in action at Iwo Jima, 19Feb45-16Mar45, participated in the occupation of Japan, 23Sept45-18Apr46. Honorably decorated veteran of the Korean War 15Oct50 to 27Jun51, participated in the Wonsan-Hungnam-Chosin Campaign, Northern Korea 11Nov50 to 13Dec50, participated in operations in South and Central Korea 16Dec50 to 10Jun51. Mr. Piasecki was a retired United States Postal Service carrier after 30 years, and retired from Record Copy after 16 years. He resided in Lincoln Park for 62 years and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and of Christ the Good Shepard Catholic Parish. Visitation will be held at the R.C. Aleks & Son Funeral Home, 1324 Southfield Rd., Lincoln Park on Wednesday, January 9, 2013 from 2 to 8 p.m. with a 6 p.m. Rosary. Instate Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Christ the Good Shepherd Catholic Church, Lincoln Park from 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass at 9:30 a.m. A private interment will take place Friday, January 11, 2013 at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
