HARBAUGH, RUTH E.; of Hastings Michigan; aged 81; passed away May 18, 2012, after a brief battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Tribla Speicher of Nappanee, IN. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 61 years, Weldon; her daughter, Rebecca (Michael) Seaben; son, David Harbaugh. Ruth graduated from Nappanee High School, then Indiana School of Business. She was on the administrative staff at Mercywood Psychiatric Hospital of the St. Joseph Medical Center, Ann Arbor, Michigan, and retired in 1992. She was a lifetime member of the Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary and participated in volunteer work most of her life. She always had a smile on her face, and treated others with kindness, humor and compassion. Ruth loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed travel, shopping, cooking, and sewing, as well as a nice glass of wine. She had a fondness for animals, especially dogs. According to her wishes, Cremation has taken place and a private Service will take place at a later date. Cards and notes may be sent to P.O. Box 31 Hastings, Michigan 49058.
