Frederick Pearce Obituary
PEARCE, FREDERICK; of Richmond, KY; passed away peacefully at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lexington, KY; on Sunday, January 23, 2011. He was born September 21, 1928, the youngest child of Reginald Pearce and Elizabeth Bohnenkamp Pearce in Detroit, MI. He was drafted into service in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean War. After his return to civilian life, he did administrative work for the Keuffel & Esser and the Homelite Outdoor Product Companies. On February 18, 1961 he married Dorothy Turkish who was the love of his life and with whom he had a daughter and a son. During their working years, Fred lived with his family in Royal Oak, MI and Bloomingdale, IL. Fred was especially fond of taking the family on vacations to many new and exciting places. In their retirement, Fred and Dorothy lived in Asheville, NC and Belleville, MI. After Dorothy passed away May 16, 2008, Fred decided to move to Kentucky. He was pleased to be able to move into St. Andrew's Retirement Community in Richmond, KY on his birthday in September of 2008, and he very much enjoyed living in both McCready Manor and in Telford Terrace. He is survived by his brother, Jim Pearce of Costa Rica and Florida; his daughter, Jan Pearce (Robert Fairchild) of Berea, KY; his son, Doug Pearce (Amy Train Pearce) of Belleville, MI; and his three lovely granddaughters, Taylor, Nicole, and Addison Pearce of Belleville, MI. A Memorial Service was held in KY. Fred will be interred with Dorothy in Michigan Memorial Park, Flat Rock, MI. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the , 30 East 33rd Street, New York, NY 10016.
