Obituary Condolences

MOENING, CLIFFORD; August 17, 2011; age 85. Clifford was born on June 3, 192, in Richmond, Minnesota. He lived in St. Cloud, Minnesota until he joined the Navy in 1944. He served 4 years in the Pacific theater as a radio man and enjoyed his life in Samoa and New Caldonia. When his Navy assignment was over, he went to Gale Institute in Minneapolis to become a telegrapher. He was recruited by the D.T.&I railroad in Dearborn, Michigan. During this time, he met and married the love of his life, Ruth. They settled in Trenton, Michigan and started their happy life. This includes 60 years as an attentive husband to his wife, Ruth and a devoted father to his 6 sons, Timothy (Penni), Daniel (Cheryl), Mitchell (Carol), Christopher (Julie), and Mark (Joanne). He was preceded in death by his oldest son, Bill. He was also Papa to 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Cliff is survived by 1 brother, Jerry and many attentive nieces and nephews. After 21 years working on the railroad, Ruth and he bought a Baskin Robbins ice cream store. They owned and operated the store for 18 years. Cliff was an active member of the St. Cyprian Knights of Columbus. During his retirement, he enjoyed traveling, golfing, card playing, and visiting with his wide circle of friends. Always, his family came first. Funeral Services were held Saturday at St. Cyprian Church. Arrangements by Czopek Funeral Directors (734) 285-9000.
