Mary L. Adkison Obituary
ADKISON, MARY L.; January 27, 2012; age 100; of Allen Park. Beloved wife of the late Virgil. Loving mother of the late Virgil Jr., Louise (late Joe) Baran, the late Carol (Beth), Larry. She is survived by her siblings, Charlie, Ellen and J.W. in Missouri; dear grandma to the late Joe and Rick Baran; Ron Baran, Laura (Mark) Luecke, David Talcott, Wendy (Jim) Schrader, naming just a few local grandchildren. She is loved and adored by 25 grandchildren in total with many great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, most living in Sparta, TN and Grayling, MI. Mary was an inspiration to many staying active and independent late into her senior years. She drove herself to her hair appointments, shopping, walking at Sears, bingo and most incredibly to the job she had until 96 years of age. She was a hostess for over 20 years at the McDonald's in Allen Park at Goddard, and there wasn't a day that went by after she couldn't work anymore that she didn't miss being there and seeing all the friends she had made. Her granddaughter, Laura (Lori) would like to express thanks to the pharmacy staff at Rite Aid and CVS in Allen Park, Marge at Hair Palladium, Terry at Family First, The staff at Visiting Angels, Lisa, Sandy, Medilodge in Taylor, Henry Ford Hospice and especially Dr. Simms and his wonderful staff at Allen Park Family Physicians, for being the epitome of how a community works to take care of its members. The many ways you helped Grandma will always be appreciated. Memorial Service at Voran Funeral Home in Allen Park, Saturday, February 4, 2012, Noon to 2 p.m., Prayer Service at 1:30 p.m.
