GORDON LEE CONNELLY 10/23/1926 - 8/30/2013 Gordon Lee Connelly was born October 23, 1926, in Sarasota, Florida. On August 30, 2013, in Post Falls, Idaho, he passed away peacefully at the age of 86, with his family by his side. Gordon is survived by his daughters, Bonnie Clifton of Oceanside, California, and Rebecca Hartman of Spirit Lake, Idaho, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Helen Sorenson Connelly and his daughter, Kathryn Carey. Gordon served in the Army
during World War II
, in the Philippines and in Japan during the post-war Occupation. He moved to Barstow after the war with his family, met and married Ruth Helen, and raised a family of his own. He owned and worked in various service stations prior to working in Civil Service positions at Fort Irwin and later at Pt. Mugu Naval Air Station, where he was Transportation Foreman on San Nicolas Island. He retired to San Marcos, California, and after the death of his wife, he moved to Spirit Lake, Idaho to live near one of his daughters. Gordon was a model of love, generosity, responsibility, and loyalty to his children and grandchildren. He will be deeply missed and loved forever by his family. A private service will be held.
