JOHN HENRY SCOYNE 7/14/1935 - 4/30/2013 John Henry Scoyne, 77, died April 30, 2013 at Knolls West/Desert Knolls Convalescent Hospital in Victorville, California. He was born on July 14, 1935 to Chester and Gladys Scoyne in Everett, Mass. He is survived by Sharon, his wife of 27 years, three children George (Hillary), Pamela and Sheila, two stepchildren Jeffrey (Robin) and Jennifer (Mario), eight grand- children, two step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Also surviving him are two sisters Evelyn and Joan. His parents, a brother, Richard and two sisters, Emma and Patricia, preceded him in death. A little known fact was that John was part Chippewa Indian on his great grandmother's side of the family. He loved his country and proudly served six years in the US Air force. Following his service he worked as a machinist. He enjoyed many outdoor activities feeling right at home fishing on a lake, camping and hunting. When the weather or his health kept him indoors he enjoyed cooking and baking, watching his favorite baseball team, the Angels, and watching western movies especially ones with John Wayne, and playing with his grand and great-grandchildren. John lived in the Hesperia and Apple Valley area since 1998 and was a regular at the Apple Valley summer concerts. He enjoyed exploring the local restaurants making many friends and developing a special taste for Thai food. His many friends he made over the past years will miss him. He was laid to rest on May 8th, 2013 at Rose Hills in Whittier, California.
