MARILYN DENISE BROTON

MARILYN DENISE BROTON 3/4/1954 - 9/6/2013 It is with great love that we celebrate the life of our loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend, that began her life on March 4, 1954, in Trinidad, Panama. Her outgoing personality and cheerfulness served her well as a waitress and later as a nurse, graduating from Vocational Nursing School of California in August of 1983. She could easily engage others in a fun game of cards, Yahtzee and Monopoly. Some of her favorite past times was playing bingo and fishing at Big Bear and Hesperia lakes. But most of all, the holidays and special events with the family was the most meaningful to her. Marilyn loved the music performed by Diana Ross and Tina Turner, and the movies starring Michael Keaton and Tom Hanks. A resident of Barstow for 35 years, she attended Calvary Chapel in Barstow, and was inspired by the ministry of Billy Graham and Benny Hinn. Marilyn entered Eternal Life on September 6, 2013. Marilyn is survived by a daughter, Michelle Smith of Barstow, three sons, John Broton, Jason Smith and Norman Smith of Barstow, two sisters, Virginia Davis of Hinkley and Sheryl Gobrecht of Tucson, AZ.; a brother, John Smith of Tucson, AZ.; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Marilyn's life will be celebrated at 4 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2013, at Calvary Chapel of Barstow, 412 Avenue A. Arrangements entrusted to Horizon Memorial Services of Barstow.
