Ruben Leyva Bonilla

RUBEN LEYVA BONILLA 1932-9/30/2013 Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Born in Marfa Texas, passed away peacefully on Sept 30th, 2013 at this home in Victorville with his family by his side. He served in the US ARMY during the Korean war, where he was a staff sergeant. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus and faithfully attended mass at Holy Innocence till the onset of Dementia . Ruben settled in Los Angeles residing in the Lincoln Heights area, where he met and married Teresa Gonzales whom he was married to for 57 years. Ruben enjoyed the sport of boxing and once had been a Golden Glove contender in this home town of Fabens, Texas. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, going out to eat, a drive in movie or attending high school football games. After 27 years working for Norris Industries he retired and settled in Victorville, where he has lived for the last 17 years. He is survived by his Wife Teresa Bonilla, Daughters Sandra Castellon, Laura Zarate, Angle Bonilla, Sons Ruben Bonilla, Javier Bonilla and Joey Bonilla. Grand Children, Michelle Longanecker, Nigel Felix, Julian Zarate, Jordan Castellon, Zach Murillo, Jackie Murillo, Mathew Tabizon, Justin Zarate, Jason Zarate, Great grand children; Lauren, Bella, Heaven, Christain, Grace, Aubrey and Zoey. Thank you Dad for being the best father a family could ever have; you will sorely be missed!! Visitation will be Thursday, October 10, 2013 4pm-8pm with a Rosary at 6:30 pm Desert View Funeral Home 11478 Amargosa Rd. Victorville, CA. A mass will be held Thursday, 10/11/2013 11:30 am St. Catherine's Church 7005 Brockton Ave Riverside, CA. with a graveside service to follow at 1:30pm Riverside National Cemetery 22495 Van Buren Blvd. Riverside, CA.
