MICHAEL JOHN HEALEY 5/7/1943 - 10/4/2013 Michael John Healey, 70, of Atascadero, passed away Friday, October 4, 2013. He was born May 7, 1943 in Sacramento to his parents John and Margaret Healey. Michael graduated from Atascadero High School in 1961. In 1964 he married Donna Rae Lemison at St Williams Catholic Church in Atascadero. Michael graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a degree in English. He graduated from San Jose State with a degree in Art. He received his California Teachers Credential from Cal Poly and also had a Masters in both English and Art. Michael taught for 34 years in the Victor Valley and Apple Valley Unified School Districts. Michael was a very talented artist and was involved in The Paso Robles Art Association (PRAA) and the Atascadero Art Association. He was also a member of the Chalk Mountain Golf Club. Michael is survived by his wife, Donna Rae (Lemison) Healey; Sons Kevin Patrick Healey(Barbara) Portland, Or and Aaron Michael Healey (Carly) Apple Valley, CA: Grandchildren Pvt. Austin Healey, U.S. Army, Fort Benning, GA, Emma Healey, Apple Valley, CA, Braeden and Kian Healey Portland, OR, Zoe and Alexis Brannon, Apple Valley, CA; Brothers Kevin Healey (Camille) Patrick Healey; Brother in law Rodger Lemison (Judy) and Cousin John Richter (Joy) and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Peg Healey. A rosary will be recited on Friday October 11th at 7 pm at Chapel of the Roses Mortuary in Atascadero Ca. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday October 12th at 11 am at Santa Margarita de Cortona Church in Santa Margarita A reception will follow in the Church gardens. The family would like to give a special thanks to Wilshire Hospice and to Dr. Dicarlo and his staff.
