HUBER HEIGHTS — Mildred A. Buynak, age 94, formerly of Huber Heights. It is with saddened hearts that we say good-bye to our dear Mother, Mildred A. Buynak, who passed away on April 5, 2016. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 18, 1922. She was pre-deceased by her husband Stephen, her parents, siblings, son Paul Daniel of Mohall, ND, and several grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law Kathryn A. & Lance H. Edwards of Alexandria VA, M. Marie & Scott Davis of Brookville OH, and Patricia M. & Matthew Woodgeard of Miamisburg OH; her sons and daughters-in-law S. Timothy & Glorianna of Santa Barbara CA, Thomas M. & Joan of Strongsville OH, Martin J. & Pamela of Toledo OH, and Charles F. & Susan of Tipp City OH. Other surviving relatives include her sister-in-law Ann Luzicka of Cleveland, OH and brother-in-law Cyril & Mary Buynak of North Royalton, OH. Mildred is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren. Mildred loved the time spent with all of her grandchildren and always took those special moments to teach them about family customs and traditions. Mildred was deeply religious and was a founding member of St. Peter's Parish in Huber Heights. She served the community for over 50 years as Eucharistic Minister and lay distributor to the homebound. She also organized luncheons for the Bereavement Committee and served as the Recording Secretary for the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Mildred worked for Winters/Bank One/Chase Bank for over 24 years and also completed studies to receive her Associate's Degree from Sinclair Community College. Mildred enjoyed gardening and won numerous landscaping awards for her beautiful array of flowers throughout her yard. At times she had over 500 tulips and daffodils bursting with color. She also adventured through many forests and parks while volksmarching so as to enjoy the beauty of the earth. The family will receive friends at the Marker & Heller Funeral Home in Huber Heights from 5-8 PM on Friday, April 15th. Prayers will be at 9:30 AM Saturday at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church, 6161 Chambersburg Road. Father Ethan Moore will be the celebrant. Immediately following the service, lunch will be served in the St. Peter's Life Center and internment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mildred A. Buynak Memorial Scholarship Fund for aspiring grade school children care of St. Peter's Catholic Church. The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the staff at Hospice of Dayton for their compassionate care of our Mother. Friends and caretakers at Cypress Pointe in Englewood OH made a beautiful and warm home for Mildred and the family extends their love and appreciation for those shared years.
