Cheryl Crawford Obituary

Cheryl Crawford HICKORY Cheryl Margaret Crawford, of Hickory, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2013, at her home. She was born Oct. 24, 1963, in Bryn Mawr, Pa., daughter of Stanley and Margaret Czapla, loving wife of John Crawford and mother of Ashley and John (JT). Cheryl loved bird watching, boating, shopping, and camping at her Happy Place, but most of all spending time with her family. She touched many in the community in which she served as manager at Members Credit Union, Newton Branch, where she loved helping her extended Member's family. There will be a private memorial service at their family farm in Ashe County at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, CB #7295, For Lung Cancer Research, Chapel Hill, NC, 27599-7295. Condolences may be sent to the Crawford family at www.drumfh-hickory.com. The Crawford family has entrusted services to Drum Funeral Home & Cremations in Hickory.

CHERYL was more than a bank manager she was a someone that made you feel like a family member i remember getting my first car loan and she argued with the dealer over the phone untill she got me a better deal it was that way everytime.we shared vegtables from our garden hot sauce.she will always feel like a sister to me my prayers go out to her family we have all been blessed to have had her in our life.

Cheryl was such a blessing when we moved down from NJ in 2004. She and my husband hit it off right away since he was originally from PA. They talked most about the snow and how the people down here have a time with 1/2 inch of snow.

Whenever we went into the Newton office she always had a smile on her face and a helpful hand. She will surely be missed.

Cheryl's love of bird watching was the link that brought us together. When she asked us if we would talk to Ashley about working here in the store, we all had no idea what a blessing & joy that would bring into our lives. Her love & inner joy will live on in the eyes of Ashley & JT. You can see her in them every time they have that spontaneous and beautiful smile and shining eyes.
