Hazel Huffman HICKORY Hazel Jane Huffman, 85, of Hickory, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Frye Regional Medical Center. Born Sept. 16, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Carroll Lee and Nelia Rogers Huffman. Hazel was a member of Warlicks Baptist Chu-rch. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved flowers and working in her garden. Her greatest joy was her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Darrell Huffman; grandson, Bruce Huffman, Jr.; and brother, Edmund Huffman. Survivors include sons, Douglas Huffman, of Hickory, Cade Huffman and wife, Debbie, of Newton, Bruce Huffman, of Connelly Springs, and Wayne Huffman, of Con-nelly Springs; daughters, Sherry Jetter and husband, Fred, of States-ville, and Veronica Gilbert and husband, Ray, of Gastonia; sister, Bette Monholland, of Vancouver, Wash.; 21 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. A celebration of life service will be held on Monday, June 11, at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with the Rev. Gary Murray officiating. Burial will follow in Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
