Richard Settlemyre Obituary

Richard "Chad" Settlemyre GRANITE FALLS Richard "Chad" Settle-myre, 25, of Granite Falls, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, at Frye Regional Medical Center. He was born June 21, 1986, in Catawba County, to Richard and Lori Beach Settlemyre of Hudson. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Colin and Marie Beach, and his paternal grandparents, J.T. and Phyllis Settlemyre. Chad was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church and was a member of the Sawmills Volunteer Fire Department. He was employed with Bemis Manufacturing Incorporated. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Melissa Triplett Settlemyre, of the home; his son, Mason Lee Settlemyre, of the home; and a brother, Chris Settlemyre, of Hudson. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2012, at Fellowship Baptist Church of Hudson with Revs. Doug Howell and Jason Hines and Dr. Jason Guyer officiating. Burial will follow at Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, March 2, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Fellowship Baptist Church of Hudson. Serving as pallbearers will be the members of the Sawmills Volunteer Fire Department. Memorials may be made to the Sawmills Volunteer Fire Department, 4068 US Hwy 321-A, Granite Falls, NC 28630; the American Heart Association, 4217 Park Place Ct., Glen Allen VA 23060; or to Caldwell County Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood St. NW, Lenoir, NC 28645. I am deeply sorry for your loss. I didnt know Chad personally but was with him in the RIT Fire classes at Grace Chapel and he was a great person to be around and showed true dedication to the fire service. He will be greatly missed. United We Stand - We Will Never Forget

i hate that a good man had to leave us so early chad was a good loving guy i use to roof with chad and i couldnt ask for a better person or a friend. But now he is watching down on all of us with our heavenly father its just too bad that the world has losted a fireman a family man and a dear friend to many of us in this county we are thankful for his services and all that he has down,he will be dearly missed he may be gone but he still lives in all our heart and we still see him in his beautiful sons eye r.i.p gone but not forgoten
