Nathaniel Allen "Nate" Carrigan

Nathaniel Allen "Nate" Carrigan, 35, of Bailey passed away in the line of duty on Feb. 24, 2016.
He was born Nov. 7, 1980, in Denver, the son of John and Melissa (Klipp) Carrigan. He was a graduate of Platte Canyon High School, where he holds the record for the most athletic letters in school history. He was the varsity head coach for baseball and assistant coach for football at Platte Canyon High School for many years.
He also worked at the school in many positions, the last being school resource officer. He devoted most of his free time to the community.
He graduated from the Highlands Ranch Public Safety Institute, receiving many top honors, in 2003. He worked for 13 years with the Park County Sheriff's Office and served faithfully up to the moment of his passing, receiving multiple commendations and awards throughout his career.
Nate is survived by his parents, John K. and Melissa J. Carrigan; two brothers, John D. (Jennifer) Carrigan, and Jeremiah R. (Paula) Carrigan; sister Alicia M. (Joshua Bellomy) Carrigan; girlfriend Melissa Patterson and her children, Brandon, Tyler, Heather and Sam; four nieces, Jennalyn Carrigan, Jessica Carrigan, Janessa Carrigan and Sawyer Bellomy; two nephews, Kaiden Bellomy and Brian Bellomy; four uncles, Brett (Kimberly) Carrigan, Marvin (Dawn) Carrigan, Michael Carrigan and Melvin Klipp; and aunt Kara (Jeff) Hastings.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Norita Carrigan; maternal grandmother Kathryn Klipp; and uncle Mark David Klipp.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nate Carrigan Scholarship Fund, c/o Bank of the West.
A public funeral service will be held Monday, March 14, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Faith Bible Chapel, West 62nd Avenue and Ward Road in Arvada.
