Alfred "Duane" Lamb Obituary
Alfred "Duane" Lamb, 92, of Hillsdale, passed away Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Mac McGuire Skilled Nursing Facility in Hillsdale. He was born June 20, 1924 in Wheatland Township to George and Edith (Deacon) Lamb. He married Gladys Crawford in 1946 and she preceded him in death.

Duane worked as a lineman for Consumers Power. He attended Pittsford Schools before entering the US Army and serving in WWII as a paratrooper. Duane was a member of the Hillsdale Elks Lodge. He loved to haul livestock for 4-H members during the fair and was an avid golfer.

Survivors include a son, Roger (Rebecca) Lamb of Jonesville; daughter, Laurabeth Lamb of Coldwater; grandchildren; Todd (Carol) Lamb of Las Vegas and Jason Lamb of Kalamazoo; four great-grandsons; his long-time companion, Mary Lee Alden; and siblings, Dorothy Swanders of Hudson and Merrett Lamb of Rollin.

Duane was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Doris Lake and Georgia Meyers.

A memorial service for Duane Lamb will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday January 11 at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Clyde Wonders officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Sunset View Cemetery in Jonesville at a later date.
