STURGIS - Anthony Jay Spahr age 64 of Sturgis, Michigan passed away Sunday afternoon, September 6, 2015 at the Sturgis Hospital.
He was born August 30, 1951 in Van Wert, Ohio son of the late Charles and Betty Louise (Potter) Spahr.
Tony resided in Sturgis since 1977 coming from Hillsdale and was a graduate of Hillsdale High School with the class or 1970.
On November 8, 1980 he married Jeanne Grandstaff at the Christ Community Church in Sturgis.
He had been employed by Midwest Tool & Cutlery in Sturgis, the Dometic Corporation in LaGrange, Indiana and for many years operated along with his wife Spahr Adult Foster Care in Sturgis.
He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Centreville and enjoyed yard work and gardening and time spent with his family. Tony's world truly revolved around his wife that he so dearly loved.
He is survived by the love of his life, his wife: Jeanne; two sons: Shawn (Monica) Trattles of Independence, Kentucky and Lucas Spahr of Sturgis; three grandchildren: Lauren, Seth and Brayden; three sisters: Laura Childers of Hillsdale, Darlene Swihart of Sturgis and Kitty (Ernie) Miller of Elkhart, Indiana; two brothers: Charles (Linda) Spahr of Cypress, Texas and Jeffery (Judy) Spahr of Houston, Texas and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Polly Hersha and Vicky Carpenter.
In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at a later date.
