LITCHFIELD - Artemas Charles Clark, 85, lifelong Litchfield area farmer, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016, at the Community Health Center of Branch County in Coldwater. Born December 19, 1930, in Somerset Center, he was the son of Clifford Cyril and Irma Louella Clark and a 1949 graduate of Litchfield High School. He was a member, trustee, and administrative council chairperson of the Litchfield United Methodist Church and a life member of the Humanity Lodge #29 F & AM in Homer.
On May 29, 1954, he married Mildred Kidder and she survives in Litchfield. Also surviving: one daughter, Marcia Foster of Jackson; four sons, Michael (D'Andra) Clark of Hillsdale, Artemas Clark, Jr. of Jackson, Kenneth (Barbara) Clark of Milford, and Steven (Elizabeth) Clark of Litchfield; one sister, Mary Corey of Toledo, Ohio; 13 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Agnes Snyder and Eva "Dolly" Court; one brother, Buddy Clark; daughter-in-law, Darlene Clark; grandson, Benjamin Clark; and great-grandson, Scott Haskins.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Litchfield United Methodist Church with Pastor Julie Yoder Elmore officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery, Litchfield. Visitation is scheduled Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Litchfield and Wednesday from 10 a.m. until time of service at the Litchfield United Methodist Church. Memorials are suggested to the Litchfield United Methodist Church.
