Audrey L. (Mills) Towne Obituary
Audrey L. (Balcom) Towne, 88, of Portage and formerly of Osseo, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Bickford Assisted Living in Portage, MI. Audrey was born November 25, 1928 in Ransom Twp., Michigan to Ernest & Inez (Keck) Mills. Audrey was married May 25, 1947 to Rev. Clifford Balcom and he preceded her in death in 1980. She later married Marion Towne on Jan. 1, 1983 and he preceded her in death in 1999.
Audrey was the former Director of the Rural Bible Mission in Hillsdale County for seven years and was the former the Pastor at Ransom Community Church. She was a graduate of Hillsdale High School in 1946 and a member of the Prattville Community Church and a member of the Ladies Aide of the church.
Surviving are four daughters, Elaine (Mike) Ott of Marble Rock, Iowa, Janet (Richard) Graham of Springfield, Missouri, June (David) Kimmel of Plymouth, Wisconsin and Sharon MacPherson of Portage, MI; eight grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; step-daughters, Paulet, Jeanet and Lynet and many step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Clifford & Marion, a grandson Jeremy, siblings, Erma & Olen and step-daughter Annet.
Funeral services for Audrey Towne will at 2 p.m. Thursday, at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor David Kimmel officiating. Interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery in Reading. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m.Wednesday, at the funeral home.
