Bruce E. Bell Obituary

JONESVILLE – Bruce E. Bell, 60, of Quincy, passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at home. He was born September 18, 1955 in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan to Ernest and Martha (Chivington) Bell. Bruce married Mary Alice Conklin on October 6, 1984 and she survives.

Bruce graduated from Homer High School in 1973. He retired in 2015 from Lakeland Correctional Facility in Coldwater after nearly 30 years of service. Bruce enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially with his hunting dog, Maggie. He also was a talented craftsman and woodworker. Bruce enjoyed boating on Marble Lake, camping up north and spending time with his family, whom he dearly loved.

In addition to his wife, Mary Alice, Bruce is survived by two children, Adam Bell of South Lyon and Emily Bell of Ann Arbor; his mother, Martha Bell of Homer; brother, Brad (Retha) Bell of Albion; aunt, Joyce (Dr. Dick) Alleman; uncle, Marlin (Marilyn) Bell and several nieces and nephews.

Bruce was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Bell.

Funeral services for Bruce Bell will be Monday, February 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Eagle Funeral Home – George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastors Brad Parrish and Mark Case officiating. Interment will follow at Johnson Cemetery in Jonesville. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
