C. Darlene (Miller) Lindsey Obituary
C. Darlene Lindsey was born May 13, 1943 to Phillip and Maxine Miller. She passed away on February 10, 2018 at her home. She was the oldest of six siblings, Ronald Miller, Judy Baker (Craig Bumgartner), Rodney Miller, Roger Miller (Krista) and Rita Crabtree.
Darlene grew up working on a farm and driving semi for her dad. She went to North Adams Schools and graduated in 1961. Darlene's first job was a waitress at Bundy Hill Restaurant. She also worked at a Car Hop in Jonesville. Darlene then opened up her own shoe shop and repaired shoes. Following that time she went to work at Jonesville Tubing and following that was employed at Quality Springs in Coldwater. She retired from Addison Products in 1990 after 21 years with them.
Darlene met Frank in 1961 and they got married on January 28, 1962. Frank and Darlene had two daughters, Charlotte D. (Mike Keil) Lindsey of Addison and Charemon ""Tina"" (Colleen Bell) Lindsey of Camden. Frank and Darlene took in Scott Horn and raised him. They had many foster children. Leslie became a foster daughter and a sister to Charlotte and Tina. Darlene has five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren and many foster grandchildren; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Darlene is preceded in passing by her father, Phillip Miller; her husband, Frank ""C.J."" Lindsey and one brother, Rodney Miller.
Darlene enjoyed playing BINGO, going to Bluegrass festivals and camping. She also enjoyed going to the Casino and riding her motorcycle. Her favorite thing was spending time with family and friends, and listening to country music and Elvis Presley.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home in Hillsdale at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 15, 2018 with Pastor Doug Bilby officiating. At her request cremation will follow the service. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 14 at the funeral home in Hillsdale.
Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the family to be used towards fostering programs.
