Carol Jean (Storer) Tindall Obituary
Carol Jean Tindall, 93, of Jonesville, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born January 11, 1925 in Hillsdale to Charles and Bess (Frank) Storer. Carol married Lawrence Golding on August 17, 1944 and he preceded her in death in 1990. She later married Arthur Tindall on August 13, 1994 and he preceded her in death in 2015.
Carol graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1943. For many years, Carol was the house mother for Kappa Kappa Gamma at Hillsdale College. Carol was an active member of Hillsdale First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the choir and Emily Dewey Joy Circle. She also enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Pistons, attending Red Hat functions, solving crossword puzzles and playing cards, especially euchre. Carol also volunteered for Hospice of Hillsdale County and the Hillsdale Hospital Auxiliary Gift Shop.
Survivors include two daughters, Marlene (Stuart) Risedorph and Gail (Tim) Tyler, both of Hillsdale; three grandchildren, Becca (Chad) Hephner of Jackson, Elly (Bryan) Baggett of Fort Wayne, Indiana and Troy Tyler of Hillsdale; numerous other grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and three step-children, Kathryn (Robert) McKnight of Pittsford, Jenny Holly of Jackson and Gil (Fran) Tindall of Homer.
In addition to her husbands, Lawrence Golding and Arthur Tindall, Carol was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Charlene Hawley.
Funeral services for Carol Jean Tindall will be 1 p.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Don Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hillsdale. The family will receive friends for visitation on Saturday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
