Christine Graening Obituary

HILLSDALE - Christine A. Graening, 76, of Jonesville, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at her home. She was born December 25, 1939 in Hillsdale to George & Maxine (Benjamin) Spencer. Chris was married December 23, 1961 to Larry Graening and he survives.

Christine retired from the Hillsdale Hospital, she was a Medical Technician. She was a longtime resident of Hillsdale prior to moving to Jonesville. Chris and Larry loved Florida, they spent 23 years wintering in West Palm Beach. She was a former member of the Hillsdale Elks Lodge, the I.S.C.L.T., and the Jonesville Jill's. One of her favorite passions was quilting, she made several quilts over the years and those quilts are treasures to many family members and friends. Chris also enjoyed showing her quilts and hand made items at craft shows all over this area.

Surviving besides her husband Larry are children, Beth (Jeff) Rowe of Jonesville and Brian Graening of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Megan Rowe, Hannah (Garret) Duffany, Kalie, Ashley and Samantha Graening; siblings, Charlene (George) McClintic and Karen (Mike) Balcom, both of Hillsdale.

Funeral services for Christine Graening will be Monday, April 11, 2016, at 2 p.m., at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Don Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset View Cemetery in Jonesville the family will receive friends for visitation Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m., at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
