Clair Booth Obituary
Clair Booth, 93, passed away peacefully in her Hillsdale, Michigan home on May 10, 2017.
Services will beat 11 a.m. Monday, May 15 at the First United Methodist Church in Hillsdale with Pastor Pat Brook officiating. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
Clair was noted for her award-winning quilt making expertise, a talent which she generously shared with others. She will also be remembered for her sense of humor, joy in life, and resilience. She loved gardening, cats, traveling, and outdoor nature of all types.
Over the years Clair Booth volunteered many hours with Domestic Harmony, the Methodist Church, the Will Carleton Poor House, and quilting groups. She also worked for the Hillsdale Schools as a cook.
She was preceded in death by Clifton, her husband of 65 years, in 2011.
She is survived by her daughter, Melanie Booth-Butterfield, married to Steve; and by her son, Philip Booth, married to Cheri. She is also survived by Philip and Cheri's sons, Clifton and Patrick, Patrick's wife, Emily, and Clifton's daughter, Vivienne.
Clair enjoyed life to the end; she handled herself in her own house, had plenty of close and loving friends, gave help and comfort to others and received it in return. She saw her children and grandchildren for long and happy conversations the last weeks of her life.
In lieu of flowers Clair requested that people plant a living tree to commemorate her life.
Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to Domestic Harmony or to the Greater Hillsdale Humane Society.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Hampton Funeral Homes in Hillsdale.
