Clara J. (Eminowicz) Kolasa Obituary
Clara V. Kolasa, 93 of Hillsdale, passed away Thursday, December 15, 2016 at her home. She was born April 5, 1923 in Stevens Point, Wisconsin to Walter and Stephanie (Birkman) Eminowicz. Clara married Mitchell Kolasa on October 6, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1986.
Clara graduated from Northeastern High School in Detroit and over the years she invested in real estate which she kept involved in to this date. After she raised her family and upon the deaths of her husband, Mitchell and her brother, Vincent in 2000, a Hillsdale resident living on her families property, Clara decided to return to her former teen age Hillsdale home to care for the family property and started a local orchard named K's Acres now growing fruits and berries. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, painting, crafting and Polish traditions. Clara also loved gardening, which she said "Gardening grows the sprit " and attending St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Survivors include three sons, Tom Kolasa of Hillsdale, Larry (Charmaine) Kolasa of Chesterfield Twp., Michigan and Matt (Karen) Kolasa of Kettering, Ohio; nine grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband, Mitchell, Clara was preceded in death by her sister, Irene Wroblewski; brother, Vincent Eminowicz and great-granddaughter, Amber.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Clara Kolasa will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 20 at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Hillsdale with Fr. David Reamsnyder officiating. Family interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp., Michigan at a later date. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6-8 p.m. Monday at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
