DALE L. HALLECK 1931-2015

HILLSDALE - Dale Lee Halleck, 84 of Osseo, passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born March 15, 1931 in Ransom Twp. to Fred and Leota (Hillard) Halleck. He married Madelon Powers on December 22, 1951 and she survives.

Dale was a graduate of Pittsford High School, Class of 1949. He was a milk hauler for Babcock Dairy Company in Toledo, a welder at Game Time in Litchfield and later retired as co-owner and operator of Jackson Rental Company with his brother-in-law, Ken Alden. Dale loved to hunt, fish, golf, ride horses and was a skilled woodworker. He served his country in the US Navy and traveled the world for four years on board the destroyer ship USS Dashiell DD-659. Dale was a member of the Hillsdale American Legion and life member of the Hillsdale Elks Lodge.

Surviving besides his wife, Madelon are two children, Douglas (Robin) Halleck of West Branch and Beverly Black (Steve Fiser) of Pioneer, OH; grandchildren, Elli (Jamie) Altaffer, Dr. Laura (Dr. Jeff) Kenyon, Dustin (Hannah) Halleck, Ben Fiser and Jake (Kelli) Fiser; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ellen Worley of FL; and many nieces and nephews.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents and two siblings, Richard Halleck and Margaret Miller.

Funeral services for Dale Halleck will be Wednesday, October 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Rev. Don Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Ransom Twp. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
