Deloris Jane (Sell) Tucker Obituary
Deloris Jane (Sell) Tucker, went home to be with her Lord on Sunday, September 3, 2017.
She was born on July 10, 1929 in Hillsdale to Jess and Vera Sell. She was married for 46 years, to her beloved husband, Howard Lee. He preceded her in death on April 1st of 1997. What a reunion they have had in Heaven with her husband and their precious son, Terry Lee, who died on his 11th birthday in 1964 from an auto accident.
Deloris loved music, studied piano, organ and chimes at Hillsdale College and gave piano lessons to others at the young age of 15. Deloris was the organist for Hillsdale County Youth for Christ, United Brethren Church of Christ and the First Baptist Church of North Adams.
The Tucker's later moved to Arizona for 20 years where she served as church Organist at Calvary Baptist Church in Mesa, Arizona.
Mrs. Tucker is survived by her son, Karlan Ken (Angela) of Littleton; daughters, Tamara Lee from North Adams and Kimi Sue from Scottsdale, Arizona. Deloris is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Ashton Lee, Sierrah (Darren) Petty, Landon Tucker from Littleton, Colorado, 5 grandchildren, from Mesa, Arizona, Jessica (Ben) Brunner, James, Joseph, Jonathan, Joy and Scott Lloyd, a son-in-law in Arizona. Deloris also had others that she loved as if they were her own. Larry and Janice Addleman, John Addleman, Greg and Kim Bolenbaugh and Katrina Whaley. She loved them all dearly.
Deloris was known for her wonderful home cooked meals and her love for anyone who needed a meal, someone to listen, clean clothes or a place to stay. She also has a well-known "Sweet Tooth" and loved her Waggoner Pecan Danties, which was the last item she asked for and ate before leaving for Heaven.
A funeral service to honor her life will be held at the First Baptist Church of North Adams at 11 a.m. Friday, September 8, with Pastor Eric Sass officiating. Interment will follow at the Northlawn Cemetery in North Adams. The family will receive friends for visitation at the First Baptist Church of North Adams from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, September 7. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to I-Go. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hampton Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
