Donald C. Parney Obituary
Donald C. Parney, of Camden, Michigan, went to be with The Lord on Monday, March 5, 2018. He was born on March 10, 1923, in Williams County, Ohio, the son of Lewis and Celesta (Betzer) Parney.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta June (Morgan) Parney; two sons, Michael (Sandy) Parney of Hillsdale and John (Paula) Parney of Camden; five grandchildren, Janene (Kathy) Parney, Carleena (Rodney) Plum, Joel (Kami) Parney, John Parney, Jr. and Teffany (Jacob) Dickey and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lucille, Mildred and Pauline and two brothers, Frank and Floyd.
Mr. Parney attended the Hay Jay School (a one room school house) in Pioneer, Ohio. He served his country in the United States Army during W.W. II and he was a member of the American Legion Post in Reading and the V.F.W. He was also a member of New Hope United Brethren Church and he retired from Hillsdale Tool and the Hillsdale Public School System.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Donald C. Parney will be held at the Hampton Funeral Home in Hillsdale, at 1 p.m. Friday, March 9 with Dr. Samuel Wickard officiating. Interment with Military Honors will take place in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Jefferson Township. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Friday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Reading American Legion Post or to New Hope United Brethren Church.
