DONALD E. VERDON 1927-2015

HUDSON - DONALD E. VERDON, age 88 years of Pittsford, passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2015, at his home. He was born on August 4, 1927, in Ida, the son of Emery T. and Mildred A. (Grosteffon) Verdon. Don attended Hull School in Ida. He was a veteran of the United States Navy serving at the end of WW II. Don owned and operated a dairy farm in Pittsford for over sixty years and worked at Tecumseh Products doing machine repair for over thirty years. He married Jane E. (Harwood) Raymond on July 27, 1969, in Pittsford. She survives. Don was a member of the First Congregational Church in Pittsford. He enjoyed antique tractors, firearms, hunting and shooting. Don was a good man with a kind heart and will be missed by those who knew and loved him.

Surviving besides his wife, Jane are five children, Keith (Leanna) Verdon of Whitleyville, TN, Steven (Melissa) Raymond of Montpelier, OH, Daniel (Julie Marino) Raymond of Titusville, FL, Deborah Van De Ven of Melbourne, FL and Linda (Jim) Riemens of Kalamazoo, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one brother, Marvin (Barbara) Verdon of Hudson and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, October 24, 2105, at the Brown-Van Hemert Funeral Home in Hudson with Pastor Terry Bobzien officiating. Interment will follow at Locust Corners Cemetery in Pittsford with full military honors conducted by American Legion Hannan-Colvin Post #180 of Hudson. Visitation will be on Saturday from 1 to 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to First Congregational Church of Pittsford or a .
