Doris Emma (Todd) Flickinger Obituary
Doris Emma Flickinger, 97, of Jonesville, passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Hillsdale Hospital. She was born September 21, 1920 in Belmore, Ohio to John and Elizabeth (Myers) Todd, one of seven children proudly known as the "7-Ups". Doris married Richard "Max" Flickinger on July 2, 1942 and he preceded her in death on September 4, 1997.
Doris graduated in 1938 from Leipsic High School in Ohio. During WWII, Doris worked at Hillsdale Screen Door from 1938-1946 and she later retired from Powers Clothing in Jonesville after 17 years of service. She was a Buddy Reading mentor for 15 years and former member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Jonesville Happy Seniors. Doris was an avid bowler for 45 years and she enjoyed traveling and playing both softball and golf. She also attended the Jonesville United Methodist Church for many years.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Kay Elaine (William) Lohness of Jonesville; one granddaughter, Melissa (Bruce) Repesh of Holland; two great-granddaughters, Anna and Katie Repesh of Holland; one brother, Bill (Hazel) Todd of McComb, Ohio and 5 nieces and nephews; Terry Hartman, Marcia Schwab, Pat Male, Ted Todd and Tom Curry.
In addition to her husband, Richard "Max" Flickinger, Doris was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Marie Thomas, Mildred Curry and Norma Hartman; two brothers, Raymond Todd and Andrew Todd and six nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Doris Flickinger will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville with Pastor Mary Sweet officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset View Cemetery in Jonesville. The family will receive friends for visitation from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
