Dorlene M. (Frank) Ferrier-Dryer Obituary
Dorlene M. Ferrier-Dryer, 88, of Montgomery, passed away February 27, 2018 in Hillsdale. She was born January 2, 1930 in Huntington, Indiana to Emerson and Iva (Ebersole) Frank. She lost her mother at the age of 6 and her father remarried and she gained a new mother, Mary (Ries) Frank.
She was a graduate from Montgomery High School in 1947. She attended Huntington College and Business School in Toledo, Ohio. Dorlene worked as a secretary for various places and in the office of Dr. Tarr in Camden.
Dorlene will be remembered for her courageous and independent spirit following a debilitating stroke in 1984. She suffered other major health issues but kept her independent and friendly ways. She married Douglas Ferrier on January 2, 1950 and he preceded her in death on December 24, 1993. She married Clyde M. Dryer Jr. in June 1997 and he preceded her in death in November 2016.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Ferrier of Camden and Steven (Dawn) Ferrier of Montgomery; daughter, Sheryl (David) Meyer of Toledo; stepsons, Roger (Kathy) Dryer of Hillsdale, Mark Dryer of Waynesville, Ohio, Scott (Arthur) Dryer and Greg Dryer both of Gainesville, FL; sisters, Sharon Frank and Jayne Fish both of Hillsdale; step brother, Joe (Elaine) Nofzinger of Manitou Beach; seven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren and a very close friend, Judy Hoath.
In addition to her husbands, Douglas and Clyde, Dorlene was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Devonn.
Funeral Service for Dorlene will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, March 2, 2018 at the New Beginnings Church with Pastor Keith Porter officiating. Interment will follow in the Camden Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation from 3-7 p.m. Thursday at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Reading
