Edith Mae (Clapp) Lawrence Obituary
Edith Mae Lawrence of Hillsdale, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Hillsdale Hospital. She was born on June 20, 1929 in Osseo, Michigan to Leo and Alwillda (Ash) Clapp.
Edith is survived by two daughters, Julie K. (Brian) Mundy and Sue E. (Thomas) Lehman; three grandchildren, Daniel James (Desiree') Lehman, Shawna Marie (David) McVey and Michael William Lehman; four great grandchildren, Nolan Lehman, Asher Lehman, Dalton McVey and Makayla McVey; and one sister, Jackie (Larry) Mohr.
She was preceded in passing by her husband, John W. Lawrence and one brother, Richard Clapp.
Edith was a member of the Hillsdale Free Methodist Church for 60 years. She was a member of the Hillsdale County Medical Care Auxiliary and also did charity work for the diabetes association and the cancer society. Edith enjoyed reading and especially loved people and would become a prayer warrior for everyone she met. She was also a greeter for the medical care and for Walmart.
A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Edith Mae Lawrence will be held at the Hillsdale Free Methodist Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 29, 2017 with Pastor Keith Porter officiating. Interment will follow at the Maplewood Cemetery in Reading. The family will receive friends for visitation from 5-7 p.m. Monday, August 28th at the Hampton Funeral Home in Hillsdale. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Hillsdale Free Methodist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Hampton Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
