Mrs.  Elaine M. "Skip" (England) Walker Obituary
Elaine M. "Skip" Walker, 85, of Jonesville, passed away Saturday, October 1, 2016 at Bethany House Hospice Home in Jackson. She was born September 22, 1931 in Battle Creek to William and Thelma (Phelps) England. Skip married Gene Walker on August 7, 1949 and he preceded her in death on September 20, 2016.

Skip graduated from Jonesville High School in 1949. She was an elementary school librarian and former librarian for the Village of Jonesville. Skip was also the former Executive Director of the Hillsdale County Chamber of Commerce. She and her husband, Gene enjoyed spending their winters in Winterhaven, Florida. Skip was a member of the Jonesville First Presbyterian Church.

Skip is survived by four daughters, Suzanne (Alvin) Rutledge of Pioneer, Ohio, Lori (Bruce Woodard) Bottoms of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, Karen (John) Challender of Roscommon, Michigan and Sara (Frank) Greene of Kokomo, Indiana; 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter and one great-great grandchild on the way; sister, Ann "Ginger" Wilkins of Florida.

Skip was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Gene, sister, Thelma "Tommie" Wilck and son-in-law, Larry Bottoms.

Funeral services for Elaine "Skip" Walker will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Jonesville First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Lynn McQuown officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset View Cemetery in Jonesville. The family will receive friends for visitation Saturday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville.
