Ella Dorene (Elliott) Langs Obituary
Ella Dorene Langs, age 94, of Jonesville, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. She was born February 10, 1923 in Buckley, Michigan to Harold and Elsie (Corning) Elliott. Dorene married R.D. Langs on June 7, 1947 and he preceded her in death on June 7, 1988.
Dorene graduated from Buckley High School in 1940 and then went on to work as a nurses aide in Traverse City. Together with her husband, R.D., Dorene co-owned and operated Langs Hardware in Jonesville for 47 years. She was a member of Jonesville First Presbyterian Church and an avid bowler. Dorene enjoyed volunteering for the Jonesville Buddy Reading Program, Fayette Township elections and Jonesville Athletic Booster Association.
Dorene is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Larry) Sheerer of Jonesville; son, William (Diana) Langs of Reno, Nevada; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Maxine Craig of Morristown, Tennessee.
In addition to her husband, Dorene was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Krohn; son, Jerry Langs; two grandchildren, Jared Langs and Jaime Langs; sister, Phyllis Johnson and four brothers, Ford Elliott, Max Elliot, Maynard Elliot and Jude Elliot.
Funeral services for Dorene Langs will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 22, 2017 at Jonesville First Presbyterian Church with Pastor Lynne McQuown. Interment will follow at Sunset View Cemetery in Jonesville. The family will receive friends for visitation on Sunday from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville.
