Evelyn B (Thompson) Raymond Obituary

OSSEO - Evelyn B. Raymond, 90, of Osseo, passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at the Hillsdale Hospital. She was born April 5, 1925 in Litchfield, Illinois to Hughey & Rose (Weaver) Thompson. Evelyn married William Walter Rubin on August 7, 1943 and he preceded her in death. She later married Boyd Raymond on November 25, 1967 and he preceded her in death on 2007.

Evelyn was a former employee of Shirley's Coffee Cup in Hillsdale and also a formerly worked at Mark One Plastics in Jonesville several years ago. Evelyn was an accomplished artist, she could do anything from sewing to working all sorts of construction and painting projects. She was truly a Jack of All Trades. Evelyn also enjoyed fishing, knitting and crocheting.

Surviving are four children, Jackie (Thomas) Richardson of Addison, Bill (Cathy) Rubin of Osseo, Steve(Deb) Rubin of Quincy, and Randy (Diana) Rubin of Hillsdale; three step-children, Linda (James) Riemens of Plainwell, Steven (Melissa) Raymond of Montpelier and Daniel (Julie) Raymond of Titusville, FL; 38 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husbands William and Boyd; son, Larry and three siblings, Millie, Helen and Pearl.

Graveside memorial services for Evelyn Raymond will be Friday, April 1, 2016, at 3 p.m., at the Maple Grove Cemetery in Jefferson Twp., Osseo, MI with Pastor Mike Slagle officiating. Following graveside services there will be a dinner with a Celebration of Life Service at 5 p.m., officiated by Pastor Stefanie Grgurich at the Coldwater Church of the Nazarene, 537 Sonet Lane, Coldwater, MI. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
