Franklin Paul Hartsell, 81, of North Adams went to be home with the Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at the U of M Hospital in Ann Arbor.

He was born March 5, 1933 to Donald and Frances (Meyers) Hartsell. On September 7, 1955 Frank married his best friend, his loving wife Mary Jane (Sanders) being married almost 59 years, and she survives. He is survived by his children; Cynthia (Roger) Stuchell, Roger (Cheryl) Hartsell and Karen Rozelle. He is also survived by his grandchildren; Roger, Alex, Phoebe and Trevor, Cayleigh and Michael, Tyler, Casey, Scott and Megan, Daren and Tammy. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters and 1 brother.

Frank graduated from North Adams High School in 1951, and was president of his senior class, he also was the president of the Future Farmers of America.

Frank was a member of the North Adams First Baptist Church, being a deacon, trustee, Sunday School Teacher and a teen youth leader. He was a full-time farmer, served 2 years in the Army being a cryptographer, was a construction worker and retired from Hillsdale College after 27 years.

Frank had a deep love for God, his family and farming. He was greatly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at the North Adams First Baptist Church on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 1:00 pm officiated by Pastor Eric Sass. The family will receive friends and family for visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Memorial donations may be made to the family.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Hampton-Kurtz Funeral Home in Hillsdale.
