George W. Center Obituary
George W. Center, 85, of Hillsdale passed away Sunday, August 24, 2014 at his home. He was born June 6, 1929 in Pulaski Twp. to Arthur and Edith (Vaughn) Center. He married Mary Miller on January 31, 1953 and she survives.

George graduated from Hanover-Horton High School in 1948 and also attended Western Michigan University. George worked as an electrician for Simpson Industries in Litchfield. He was a member of the Quincy Night Owls Camping Club, various card clubs and the Hillsdale Rural Fire Department for many years. George especially loved fishing, hunting and spending his winters in Raymondville, Texas at the Gateway RV Park. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. George was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.

Surviving besides his wife, Mary are two sons, Randy (Irene) Center of Denver, IN and Bradley Center of Sault Ste. Marie; daughter, Vonnie (Len) Sypkens of Grand Rapids; brother, Douglas (Joyce) Center of Munith; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

George was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Shelley; sister, Lillian Gillespie; and brothers William and Robert.

Funeral services for George Center will be Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 2551 W. Bacon St., Hillsdale, Michigan with Pastors Dan Johnson and Scott Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at St. Paul's Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale.

Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Paul's Lutheran Church or Southern Care Hospice.
