Gerald A. "Jerry" Ellington Obituary
Gerald A. "Jerry" Ellington, 80 of Jonesville, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at the Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility.

He was born November 1, 1933 in Martinsville, Illinois to Gerald and Lois (Chancelor) Ellington. Jerry married Mary Boyle on March 1, 1963 and she survives.

Jerry graduated from Martinsville High School in 1952 and served his country in United States Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was formerly employed at Jackson Prison and retired from Alsons Corporation in Hillsdale. Jerry was a member of the Hillsdale Baptist Church and was an avid golfer and gardener. He also was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary and their daughter, Rhonda (David) Carpenter of Webster, Florida; three children, Cressie, Gary and Stephen; three grandchildren, Preston "Drew", Matthew and Joshua and a sister, Jackie (Jack) Brewer of Des Planes, Illinois.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Kurt H. Ellington.

Memorial services for Jerry Ellington will be Monday, October 27, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the Hillsdale Baptist Church with Dr. Daniel Pann officiating. Family interment will take place at Mosherville Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Monday from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church. Arrangements are entrusted to Eagle Funeral Home in Jonesville.
