Mr. Harold Lawrence Douglas Obituary
Harold Lawrence Douglas, 74, of Waldron, died suddenly Sunday afternoon, November 6, 2016, at Hillsdale Hospital. He was born August 31, 1942, in Cement City, to the late Harold and Flora (Espie) Douglas. He married Christine K. Douglas on July 11, 1993, at Betzer Community Church near Pittsford. She survives.

After graduating from Cement City High School, Harold served his country as a member of the United States Air Force, and later became a licensed electrician. He was currently serving as the Wright Township treasurer, a seat he has filled for nearly ten years. Before his retirement in 1998, Harold was a maintenance supervisor at the former Metalloy, and also worked as a part-time maintenance supervisor for Waldron Area Schools.

Harold is fondly remembered for his generous spirit, always helping others. He enjoyed "tinkering" and fixing things, fishing, and all sports. Perhaps his greatest passion was spending time with his beloved grandchildren. Harold attended Betzer Community Church.

In addition to his wife of 23 years, Chris, he is survived by eight children, Tony Douglas of Durand, MI, Steve Douglas of Wyandotte, MI, Jim (Lisa) Douglas of Jackson, MI, Rhonda (Jim) Fellabaum of Waldron, Brad Douglas of CA, Shelly Kerr (Paul Hines) of Waldron, Sarah (Roy) Rich of Merry Lake, MI, and Tim (Amy) Douglas of Shelby Township, MI; a sister, Phyllis (Al) Fullerton of Cement City; and eleven grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Bill, and two sisters, Connie and a sister in infancy.

Per Harold's wishes, cremation has taken place. Private family services will be held at Betzer Community Church, and interment will take place in Waldron Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Eagle Funeral Home in Hudson.

Memorial contributions in honor of Harold can be sent to Wright-Waldron Fire Department or to Betzer Community Church. Friends can share memories and words of comfort with the family online at www.eaglefuneralhomes.com.
