Most recently, Harvey was known as the handyman at Leffingwell Estates, and was recognized in the newly built clubhouse's dedication. Harvey enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard, bowling, and spending winters in Florida.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 67 years, Betty, are a son, Robert Walters of Jackson, MI; two daughters, Judy (Richard) Plum of Manitou Beach, MI, and Cathy (Jon) Pope of Curtis, MI; three brothers, Wayne (Ruth) Walters of Riga, MI, Dale (Virginia) Walters of Onsted, MI, and Jim (Sue) Walters of Riga; three sisters, Belva (Dave) Fellers of Hudson, Rachel (Eugene) Albright of Adrian, MI, and Janice (Victor) Hillard of NH; ten grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren; and his beloved canine companion, Jinx.

Besides his parents, Harvey was preceded in death by three siblings, John "J.C.", Zelma, and Leo.
