James E. Rodesiler Obituary
James E. Rodesiler, 86, of Hillsdale, passed away Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at Hillsdale County Medical Care Facility. He was born February 14, 1930 in Blissfield to Clyde and Minnie (Hasty) Rodesiler. Jim married Berta Armstrong in 1984 and she preceded him in death in 1988. He later married Joan Balser Maxson in 1990 and she survives.

Jim graduated from Montgomery High School in 1947 and he worked as a traffic manager at DCA Food Industries in Hillsdale. He served his country in the United States Army. Jim was a member of the Elks, Eagles, Moose, VFW and American Legion.

In addition to his wife, Joan, Jim is survived by two children, April Rodesiler of Williamsburg, Kentucky and James (Margaret) Rodesiler of Addison, seven step-children, Lynda (Terry) Blatchley of Hillsdale, Frank Armstrong of Hillsdale, Kevin (Brenda) Maxson of Pioneer, Kurt Maxson of Hudson, Tom Armstrong, Alex Armstrong and Chris Crowley; nine grandchildren, Holli, Rob, Travis, Ami, Jason, Scott, James, Luke and Sloane; six great-grandchildren: sister, Jeanette (Leroy) VanHorn and brother, Bruce Lemmon.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Berta; sister, Shirley Towers and four brothers, Gerald, Tom, Don and Robert.

Memorial services for James Rodesiler will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, at VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home with Pastor Clyde Wonders officiating. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery in Hillsdale.
